~Food Truck Health Update~

     Across the country and especially in our area, we have all seen an increasing presence of various types of Food Trucks, whether for fundraising functions or family get-togethers and celebrations.

     The Wyckoff Board of Health always wants the health of the general public to be first and foremost and wants everyone to be mindful of the following:

All retail food operations in NJ must be licensed and inspected.   This includes mobile vendors.

Mobile food trucks that perform their food preparation activities in New Jersey, do require Health Department oversight, in the community where it is prepared. This would include commissary kitchens for all food vendors.

 The Wyckoff Board of Health contracts with the Bergen County Department of Health Services  (https://www.co.bergen.nj.us/departments-and-services/about-health-services) to inspect all food establishments in our community as well as events where food trucks may come to town, such as school fundraisers, Wyckoff Day, etc.  Neither the County nor our local Board of Health inspect private events.

About Us:

The Wyckoff Board of Health consists of 10 volunteer residents, all of whom have a health- related background to better serve the community.

The Board of Health is dedicated to oversight of various health issues that might impact the community. They work together to improve, protect and promote healthy living within the community.

The Board of Health generally meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm in the second floor West Wing conference room in Wyckoff Town Hall at 340 Franklin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ, unless otherwise noticed.

The township has entered into a shared services agreement for state mandated Health Officer services with Bergen County Department of Health to provide professional Health Office services.
