Blue Moon Mexican Cafe Celebrates 25 Years

On Tuesday, March 18th, the Township Committee presented Howard Felixbrod with a celebratory proclamation recognizing him on the 25th anniversary of Blue Moon Mexican Cafe.

WHEREAS,             Howie Felixbrod and his wife Mindy, moved to Wyckoff in 1994 and soon expanded their family as they welcomed Jared, Goldie and Jordana; and,

WHEREAS,             in 2000 Howie opened Blue Moon Mexican Café in Boulder Run Shopping Center and then in 2011, the restaurant was expanded, doubling in size and adding a full bar; and,

WHEREAS,             when Covid closed down many area businesses, local first responders enjoyed meals cooked in the Blue Moon kitchen while they risked their lives performing their duties to the community; and,

WHEREAS,             during the pandemic, Blue Moon expanded to include outdoor space in the parking lot for patrons to dine in the fresh air, even debuting monthly outdoor “Dueling Piano” events; and,

WHEREAS,             music is now an every weekend affair at the café; and,

WHEREAS,             Blue Moon Mexican Cafe has consistently supported many annual events in our community including the men’s softball All-Star game by providing game day shirts and food for participants; and,

WHEREAS,             the Café’s “community Night” program has helped to raise thousands of dollars for local schools and charity organizations; and,

WHEREAS,            Blue Moon has been a long-time supporter of the YMCA’s annual Wyckoff day event and is considered a main stay of the Wyckoff community; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Township Committee of the Township of Wyckoff, County of Bergen, State of New Jersey, thanks Mr. Howie Felixbrod and recognizes him as an active participant in our North Jersey community and for weaving a part of himself into the fabric of Wyckoff. He is a shining example of what makes Wyckoff so special and he is admired for his countless years of caring support, generosity and dedication to many local non-profit organizations that have greatly benefited from the Felixbrod Family and Blue Moon Mexican Café’s community spirit and philanthropic contributions.
