Coach Certification

Thank you for volunteering to promote a positive recreational experience for the children of Wyckoff and for sharing your knowledge and experience to provide a fun and safe opportunity for skill development in our wide variety of programs.
Register at www.nays.org Choose the “Training & Membership” tab on the top of your screen and with your mouse, choose “All NAYS Training” and once open, on top left of screen, “Training for”(pull down menu), choose ALL, and “Course Type” (pull down menu), choose ALL. These choices will open all training courses available for you to view so you can find the five requirements itemized and listed below and add to your cart. With your mouse, scan down to find the courses you will need to add to your cart.
The Nays site will also ask you to review and sign a Coaching Pledge. Please send us a copy of completion certificates for all training classes to [email protected].
1. Coaching Youth Sports: This course is a 3-hour, on-line training and test, and there is a fee of $7.50. No renewal is required for this training. Add to your checkout cart.
2. Concussion Training: Please follow directions above and choose “Concussion Training” and place in your cart. This course needs to be renewed every three years. There is no charge for this course.
3. Protecting Youth Athletes for Coaches: Please follow directions above and choose “Protecting Youth Athletes for Coaches” and place in your cart. No renewal is required for this course and there is no charge.
4. Basic Youth Sports Safety and First Aid Training: Please follow directions above and choose “Basic Youth Sports Safety and First Aid Training” and place in your cart. No renewal is required for this course and there is a fee of $7.50.
5. Sports Specific Training (you choose the sport): Please follow the directions above and choose “Sports Specific Training” and place in your cart. No renewal is required for this course and there is a fee of $5.00.
Background Check:
When you finish all your training, and send us your completion certificates, please send us an email to [email protected] with your name as it appears on your driver’s license along with your primary email address. We will send you an email containing a link with specific instructions on completing the background check.
Background checks need to be renewed every three years.
Parent Sportsmanship Pledge/Coach Code of Conduct, Zero Tolerance Towards Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Policy, and Volunteers Communicating Electronically Regarding Municipal Operations Policy: Upon registering for a program at our online registration site, you will be asked to review and confirm that you have read these three documents. Adherence to the rules and regulations contained within these documents is expected while volunteering. View the Code of Conduct here.
